Zebra striping(FAQ)

Question:

Zebra striping effect

Hint:

ESR error 3

Symptom 1:

During End_of_day_wash no zebra striping is visible, but during the sampling in some pipettes the blood column looks like zebra striping.

Answer:

Check if the waste pump tube is in good order.

Symptom 2:

Zebra striping occurs in the same pipette(s)

Answer:

Dirt, e.g. dried blood.

  • Clean the pipette.
  • Check disinfectant flow at the rinse nozzle.

Perpendicularity and straightness of the bottom face.

  • Replace pipette.

Glass may be chipped.

  • Replace pipette.

Symptom 2:

Zebra striping randomly or with each pipette

Answer:

  • Check fill nozzle O-ring.
  • Check fill nozzle alignment to pipette.
  • Check the nozzle arm is tight on the rear vertical shaft.
