Performing Osmoscan

Important NOTE: Each time a the Osmo LOW or Osmo HIGH bottle has been disconnected (for example to refill the bottle), preform the "PRIME ALL" step before running an Osmoscan

  1. Check that all tubes are connected correctly to the Osmo HIGH and Osmo LOW, water and waste bottles
  2. Select "Osmoscan" on main screen. The Osmoscan screen appears
    Colored diffraction pattern Measurement and sample details Curve display screen Indication of cell shape Measurement results Parameters
  3. Place a sample tube with DI water at the needle position.
  4. Move the sample needle to the bottom of the tube.
  5. Select the "Prime all" button.
    Verify that both Osmo LOW and HIGH are pumped, indicated by the passing of a bubble.
    Check the sample feeding through the needle after introduction of an air bubble.
    In case of a problem check whether all tubing and connections have a free passage and are not folded or clogged. It might be necessary to open the cover plate to massage the tubes in the pinch valves.
  6. Remove (priming) tube from the needle position.
  7. Rerun "Prime all" a second time
