The suspension volume in the laser beam = 0,3 microliter (1mm2 x 0.3 mm gap)
For a deformability curve and Osmoscan there are 100 * 10⁶ RBC in 5000 microliter reagent which results in 6000 RBC (100 * 10⁶ /5000 *0,3).

For an Oxygenscan using twice the number of cells, the estimated number is 12,000 RBC.
