Osmoscan parameters explanation
The following result parameters are given in Results file and printed report:
Parameter
Description
#
Measurement number
Start time
Actual time that was valid after setting a new shear stress and immediately following the image stabilisation time.
End time
Actual time that was valid after the last EI measurement at the given shear stress was performed.
Time (s)
Time, in seconds, since the beginning of the measurement.
Coordinate count
Number of coordinates in the iso-intensity curve that describes the shape of the diffraction pattern.
A (pixels)
Vertical axis of ellipse.
B (pixels)
Horizontal axis of ellipse.
EI
Elongation index
Eof (pixels)
Error of fit This parameter represents the average distance (in pixel units) of the iso-intensity pixels to the best-fit ellipse that resulted. It reflects how well the iso-intensity coordinates comply with the ellipse model.
O, (mOsm/kg)
Osmolality is a count of the number of particles in a fluid sample, mOsm/kg means milli-osmole per kilogram
