Usually this is caused by a wet filling nozzle.
The Westergren pipette has blood right to the base of the pipette. After the aspiration the clearance between blood and bottom is 4...5mm of each Westergren pipette.
- A dirty fill nozzle may also cause the same problem.
- A dirty Rinse nozzle may also cause the same problem.
- Clean the Rinse nozzle.
- Check the disinfectant flow.
- A dirty fill nozzle cap may also cause the same problem.
- Clean the fill nozzle cap.
- Bad fill nozzle engagement with the pipette.
- Check the fill nozzle alignment.
